Step by Step for indigo: A 600km Journey to Empower Communities

At indigo foundation, we believe in the power of community-led change. This March and April, two incredible supporters – Jenny and Andrew – are embarking on an extraordinary journey to make a difference, one step at a time.

Jenny, our dedicated Partnership Coordinator for HAKO Women’s Collective in Bougainville, and her partner Andrew will be trekking more than 600km along the Camino Portugués, a historic pilgrimage route through Portugal and Spain. Their mission? To raise $2,500 in support of indigo foundation’s global partners, strengthening grassroots initiatives that empower communities worldwide.

Why This Journey Matters

indigo foundation partners with community-led organisations in some of the world’s most disadvantaged regions, providing vital support for education, women’s empowerment, and human rights. Jenny’s work with the HAKO Women’s Collective in Bougainville is a testament to the impact of these partnerships – supporting women’s leadership, education, and safe spaces for survivors of violence.

By walking the Camino, Jenny and Andrew are not only testing their endurance but also shining a light on the resilience and strength of the communities indigo foundation stands alongside.
